NAGA CITY --- Around 1,143 students received educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as of August 24, according to its regional information officer Marygizele Mesa.
This amounts to P3,678,000 for its first distribution last Saturday, August 20. This is under the department’s Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation program. This assistance aims to help students in their school-related needs, amidst the resumption of face-to-face classes in a pandemic.
Each student in the elementary and high school level may receive P1,000 and P2,000 respectively. Those qualified applicants may also get P3,000 and P4,000 for senior high and college levels.
DSWD RO5 OIC Regional Director Arwin Razo said in an interview at Ugnayan briefing, “we encourage all parents to use the money intended for the needs of the child in education.”
Accordingly, all applicants shall wait for confirmatory text message of their respective schedules.
In a recent post of DSWD Bicol, the next education assistance pay-outs are scheduled on Aug. 27, Sept. 3, 10, 17, and 24. (PIA5/Camarines Sur)
