DTI leads REBOUND: Bicol MSME Summit

DTI Bicol --- The Department of Trade & Industry Region 5, together with Tabang Bikol Movement (TBM) will hold a one-day activity, Rebound: Bicol MSME Summit on October 21, 2022, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM at the Marison Hotel, Legazpi City. Keynote Speaker is Hon. Alfredo E. Pascual, DTI secretary.


The one-day event is expected to draw 300 participants – from the legislative and executive departments of the government, the academe, chamber of commerce and industries, and other private partners from all over the region.


DTI Regional Director Rodrigo Aguilar said the Summit will serve as a forum for participating MSMEs and other stakeholders to share issues and concerns on business recovery and inclusive growth.


Other conveners, namely the Philippine Chamber of Commerce (PCCI) Camarines Sur, PCCI-Albay, the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation, Legazpi City, Bicol Mail, Kawayan para sa Kalikasan at Kabuhayan and the Online Bicolano Workers join the DTI, in its aspiration towards achieving resilience and promoting innovation and collaboration to economic recovery.


Experts from the Ateneo de Naga University and Central Bicol State University in Agriculture (CBSUS) as well as from industry partners, San Miguel and Guinobatan Rural Bank lead Business talks in the afternoon with the following topics: Collaboration of the Academe and MSMEs in Pursuit of Innovation; Financial and Digital Inclusion of MSMEs; and Transforming MSMEs Through Sustainable Packaging.


The Summit is a step towards the rebound of Bicol MSMEs, the backbone of the economy, as they face the challenges of the new normal. At the summit, the organizers and the participants discuss and seek answers and solutions to the many issues and problems confronting the plight of MSMEs in the region. Side events of the DTI Secretary include site visits to some DTI projects in Albay and the Mariners by the Sea campus, in Rawis, Legazpi City# (JBerango, DTI5)
