Essential qualities of a good leadership

What a good leadership looks like? A good leader should possessed of integrity, self- awareness, courage, respect,compassion,and resilience. They should be flex their influence while communicating the vision showing gratitude and collaborating effectively. These qualities can be learned and improved at all levels of the organization. Leaders shape the teams and community.Here are the twelve essential qualities of a good leader.
1. Self- Awareness-is the understanding of yourself, including personality traits, behaviors, anxiety and emotions.The better you understand yourself and recognize your own strengths and weaknesses, the more effective you can be as a good leader.
2. Respect- It helps ease tensions and conflict, fosters trust,and improves effectiveness. It often starts with showing you that you are truly value other’s perspectives and making an effort belonging to a workplace.
3. Compassion- More than showing empathy or even listening and seeking to understand. It help build trust, increase collaboration,and decrease turnovers organizations.
4. Vision-An aspiration for the future. This can help employees find meaning in their work. Which increases engagement, inspires trust, and drives priorities forward.
5. Communication-shows up in many ways, from transmitting information and story telling to soliciting input and using active listening techniques. The best communicator can communicate both orally and writing and with a range of people from different backgrounds, roles, levels geographies and more.
6. Learning Agility-is the ability to know when you don’t know what to do. If you’re a quick to study or are able to excel in an unfamiliar circumstances, you might already learning agile.
7. Collaboration- a characteristic shown when leaders work effectively with a variety of colleagues of different social identities, locations, roles, and experiences. As the world become more complex and interconnected, good leader find themselves spanning boundaries and learning to work with innovation, and make a higher performing teams.
8. Influence- being more able to persuade people through thoughtful use of appropriate influencing tactics is an important trait of a good leaders.Influence alone is quite different from manipulation,and it needs to be done authentically and transparently.
9. Integrity- is being consistent, honest, moral, and it’s an essential leadership trait for the individual and the organization.
10. Courage-enables both team members and leaders to take bold actions that move things in the right direction. It can be hard to speak up at work whether you want to voice a new idea, provide feedback to a direct report, or flag a concern for someone above you. It takes courage to do what is right.
11. Gratitude- Uplifting emotions , experience after receiving something of value. Being thankful can lead to a higher self-esteem,reduced anxiety and better sleep. Sincere gratitude can make you a better leader.
12. Resilience- is more than the ability to bounce back from obstacles and setbacks. It’s the ability to respond adaptively to challenges. A positive outlook that will help others maintain the emotional strength they need to commit to a shared vision and the courage to move forward and overcome setbacks.
