Experiencing Pasko ng Pamilyang UNCeano

UNC gifted UNC families with Christmas Cheers: Pasko ng Pamilyang UNCeano on Dec 20 at 6pm via Facebook livestreaming and UNC YouTube Channel. This followed the Christmas Lighting of UNC on Dec 10. Both were hosted by yours truly, a proud UNC Ambassador. This is the first-ever fun family performances competition in UNC’s history, pioneered by the University Parent Engagement Center (UPEC), under the stewardship of the Focal Person, Ma’am Nelia San Jose. The newly launched UPEC is under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, headed by VP Romeo M. Sumayo Jr.

As UNC spread love and share the joy this Christmas, the University President, Dr. Fay Lea Patria M. Lauraya inspired insights in our heads and ignited fire in our hearts. Her message displayed the warmth of the UNC community - from our campus to every homes, to every Pamilyang UNceano. Through the greetings of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Romeo M. Sumayo Jr., UNC shared the season’s spirit. Happy and hopeful together, we light up the Christmastime and brighten up the holidays, the UNCean way.

We honor the parents as our partners in the academic journeys of our students. UPEC’s Pasko ng Pamilyang UNCeano is UNC’s gift to our UNCean parents. The event featured Christmas family performances in three contest categories: Group Singing, Group Dancing, and Group Song Interpretation. The competition welcomed Pamilyang UNCeano from Basic Education composed of three departments - Elementary, Junior High School and Senior High School. Students performed with parents, siblings, guardians and relatives, who are mostly UNC alumni.

ABS-CBN’s Ms. Charo Santos-Concio and Ms. Angel Locsin sent their special video greetings in support of the event. Elementary faculty and staff, the Parent Teacher Association of Junior High School, Senior High School and College Department shared their greetings. Another highlight of the event was the launching of the UNC Christmas ID, composed and performed by UNC’s very own talents. In this wonderful history-making family event, we celebrated God’s gift of togetherness that captured the true spirit of UNC. We witnessed fun family performances presented by and for the Pamilyang UNCeano. These family moments brought home the message of love, inspiration, and hope this Christmas Season.

UPEC’s Focal Person, Ma’am Nelia E. San Jose delivered her message of gratitude to all who contributed in the success of this event. As UNCeans, we build our brand, carry our creed, treasure our tenet and model our motto – Not of School but of Life. UNC provides quality education and nurturing environment, plus delightful experiences such as this. We value the parents as our partners. Through the family performances this Christmas, UNC exhibited the school spirit and showcased family bond.

Orchestrating this family event, Pasko ng Pamilyang UNCeano is UNC’s beautiful way of rejoicing in the birth of God’s greatest gift to us – Jesus Christ - our Lord and Savior, the reason for the season, the center of the celebration.
