Frontliner tested positive of Covid-19

LEGAZPI CITY --- A medical frontliner from this city was tested positive of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday breaking the 10-day Covid Free record which was reported earlier as a milestone in the campaign to prevent the spread of the disease, the City Interagency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF).
City Mayor Noel Rosal, City IATF chairperson said the latest COVID case was reported on Monday that a female medical frontliner from an urban village here got sick of the virus disease.
Being a medical front liner she was placed under isolation in a room at her residence.
Rosal in his FB post said “though the new case would serve as a challenge for us to be more vigorous in carrying out to the maximum level of our health protocols .”
The newly reported sick case would be categorized as an active case in the City IATF Covid tracker list where out of the 390 cumulative Covid Active cases, 373 or 95 percent recoveries, while 16 people had died.
The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol said that it has recorded a total of 3,703 Covid cases of which 3,105 or 83 percent have recovered while 447 or 12 percent were still sick and 151 or 4 percent have died.
Camarines Sur had the highest number of Covid cases with 978, followed by Naga city with 618 cases, Masbate – 486; Albay -470; Sorsogon-456; Legazpi City -409; Camarines Norte- 151; Catanduanes- 130 and Others (transient) 5 cases.
