Goa, Camarines Sur --- TESDA has officially approved the Goa Skills Training and Assessment Center [GSTAC] as an accredited Assessment center for Driving NC II.

The Certificate of Accreditation as Assessment Center was formally awarded by the TESDA Camarines Sur provincial Office after GSTAC successfully passed the compliance requirements and met the standard for assessment facilities, equipment and tools as prescribed by TESDA’s Competency Assessment and Certification System.

With this accreditation, GSTAC is now fully authorized to conduct competency assessment for Driving NC II graduates, industry practitioners, and walk-in applicants who wish to obtain their National Certificate or NC II.

The accreditation is seen as a major boost to skills development in the Partido area, as it will bring the competency assessment closer to the people of Goa and nearby municipalities. Previously, candidates had to travel to other towns or to RTC Pili to undergo assessment.

In a statement, the management of GSTAC expressed gratitude to TESDA Regional Director Archie A. Grande and TESDA Acting Provincial Director June S. Oliveros and Mr. Gedion Ranido for their assistance and backing throughout the accreditation process.

“This milestone confirms our commitment to deliver accessible, applicable, and quality TVET. With Driving NC II as one of the most in-demand qualifications for local and overseas employment. Being an assessment center will open greater opportunities for our scholars to become LTO-licensed professional drivers, logistics and public utility drivers here and abroad,” Center Administrator Manuel Cabiles Jr. assumed.

The Driving NC qualification covers competencies such as operating light motor vehicles, following and observing traffic rules and protocols, performing minor vehicle upkeep and troubleshooting, and implementing driving safety and defensive driving practices.
