Harmony in tradition: Rotary club of Naga’s annual reverse caroling

NAGA CITY -- Since 2007, the Rotary Club of Naga has harmonized the spirit of giving and the joy of music through its annual caroling event. This tradition has brought warmth and hope to different beneficiaries each year.

One of the defining features of this annual caroling event is the rotation of beneficiaries (grassroots and far-flung areas with special needs) in every barangay in Naga City. With the leadership of Rotarian Krishna “Nice” Romero, Chairperson of Reverse Caroling since 2021, where she continued the Reverse Caroling initiated by her late father, Rotarian Stimson “Timmy” Romero, who started the Reverse Caroling at Rotary Club of Naga.

“Each year, I still experience this sense of fulfillment in connecting with them and personally giving them the noche buena package we’ve prepared. It also brings me comfort knowing that this Christmas, they’ll have food to put on their tables,” Rotarian Nice Romeo stated.

This year, with the help of Queen of Peace Children’s Home, the Rotary Club of Naga dedicated its resources and efforts to bring the joys of the season to these families. Rotarians sang Christmas songs and distributed noche buena packages including 5 kgs of rice, bringing smiles to the beneficiaries in Pacol, Naga City.

The Rotary Club of Naga remains unwavering in its commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need, with this commitment at the core of its values. Spreading joy and cheer through its annual caroling tradition, a legacy that continues to brighten the holiday season year after year.
