AS Funeraria Imperial prepares to mark its 100th founding anniversary in 2026, the Imperial family highlights one of its most significant milestones in recent years: the establishment of the Naga Imperial Crematory and Columbary (NICC), an evidence to the company’s continued growth and perseverance in the local funeral industry based in Naga City.

Benigno Angelo T. Imperial—fondly called Benjie—the fifth of ten siblings in the third generation of the Imperial family, is one of those who led the expansion effort. He serves as managing director of the NICC, which was established in 2010 in Barangay Balatas, this city.

Guided by the principle of “doing the best not only for the company, the Imperial family, and personnel but for the clients as well who must feel the satisfaction of our services as they grieve over the loss of their departed loved ones,” Benjie has steered NICC into becoming one of the city’s most trusted crematory and columbary providers.

NICC stands as an enduring symbol of the family's dedication—not just to business continuity, but to upholding compassion and care for departed loved ones. Its services include cremation, columbary spaces for cremated remains, and chapel accommodations for vigils, all offered at comparatively lower rates than other crematories in the region.

The facility also boasts spacious chapels and alfresco areas suited for vigils and family gatherings, along with ample parking to accommodate more guests. A special set of chapels located on the upper level of the building is designed for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. These are situated near the columbary area, allowing families to be near their loved ones’ urns during Masses, birthdays, anniversaries, and other commemorations.

Benjie shared that NICC allows families to bring home the urns or take them to churches and venues for Masses or memorial gatherings. During All Souls’ Day, families may set up tents, tables, and chairs within the NICC grounds where they can spend time with their departed loved ones. The crematory also extends its services to pet owners who bring their deceased dogs and cats for cremation.

Despite the presence of multinational competitors, Benjie affirmed that the business continues to perform well. Future physical expansions are already being planned and can be implemented once funding opportunities arise.

NICC prides itself on well-rounded personnel trained in cremation operations, grounds maintenance, gardening, and driving. The facility operates two environmentally compliant cremation machines certified by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)—a U.S.-made methane-powered unit for human remains, and a diesel-fed Korean-made unit for pets.

Situated in a location shielded from the sun, NICC provides visitors with comfort during their stay. It also offers an ideal environment for holding Holy Masses and other solemn rites.

Families who avail of columbary services receive a certificate of perpetual use, ensuring long-term access to the resting place of their loved ones.

As Funeraria Imperial moves toward its centennial, the success and expansion of the Naga Imperial Crematory and Columbary underscore not only a thriving business but also a deepening commitment to compassionate service—a legacy the Imperial family proudly upholds through generations.
