AN intelligence-driven joint drug buy-bust operation was conducted at around 1:48 a.m. on November 25, 2025 in Zone 1A, Barangay Irayang Sulong, Minalabac, Camarines Sur, by MDEU operatives of the Minalabac MPS (lead unit) led by PCPT Beverly C. Monte.
They were assisted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (ODRDO-RPDEU5) led by P Capt. Dennis A. Altez, PIU/PPDEU CSPPO, PDEG-SOU5, and the 501st MC RMFB5, in close coordination with PDEA ROV.
The operation led to the arrest of the suspect, alias “Ricky,” 41 years old, married, a welder, a permanent resident of Naga City in Cebu, and temporarily residing in Pili, Camarines Sur. He was caught selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing around 50 grams to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P100,000. The buy-bust money consisted of one genuine P500 bill with serial number AK6412098, mixed with several pieces of boodle money.
A search incidental to the arrest resulted in the confiscation of 20 more heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 1,000 grams, bringing the total seized contraband to 1,050 grams (1.05 kg).
The haul carries a Standard Drug Price valuation of P7,140,000. The buy-bust money was likewise recovered.
Marking and inventory of the seized items were conducted at the site of the operation in the presence of required insulating witnesses and documented through alternative recording devices (ARDs).
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and brought to the police station along with the confiscated evidence for custodial investigation and inquest proceedings for violation of RA 9165.
