KB calls on Bicolanos to unite behind Leni

By Rhaydz B. Barcia

On the eve of the start of the 90-day campaign period for national elections, the Kusog Bikolandia (KB) urged Bicolanos from all walks of like and various political camps to rally behind the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Noel De Luna, KB founder and Camarines Sur 3rd District congressional candidate, joined hands with his rival, reelectionist Congressman Gabriel Bordado Jr., behind the presidential bid of Robredo.

De Luna, a member of the Pederalismo Ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) political party identified with the Duterte administration, is running against Bordado of Liberal Party, former Congressman Sulpicio “Cho” Roco of Lakas-NUCD, lawyer Joel Cadiz of Aksyon Demokratiko and lawyer Juan Agapito Tria, an independent candidate.

At the launching of the BikoLeni Movement during the All Bicol Media Convergence held at the Summit Hotel, De Luna called on the Bicolanos to unite to ensure the victory of Vice President Leni Robredon in the upcoming Presidential elections in May.

He said that Robredo’s outstanding performance as a former member of the House of Representatives and Vice President is the most qualified among the presidential candidates.

“Bikolandia, one of the economically deprived regions in the country has never before produced the highest chief executive of the land despite it’s well-spring of dedicated and distinguished men and women like VP Robredo who promises to be the kind of hardworking, honest, and righteous servant leader that our nation needs,” De Luna said.

“With it’s large population inside and outside it’s natural boundaries, including expanded families here and abroad, a united Bikolandia can well deliver the votes that will catapult our favorite daughter to the august halls of Malacanang and from that vantage point will lead us in charting the brighter future of our nation where all Filipinos will be the beneficiaries of the fruits of our labor. As our humble contribution, Kusog Bikolandia has initiated the gathering of all communicators in all media convergence here in Naga City to express our unequivocal support to the presidential bid of Robredo and from therein start our clarion call for all Bicolanos to rally behind her for the higher welfare of our region and more importantly, our nation,” De Luna said.

De Luna, a former mediaman turned businessman and now a congressional candidate, is calling on all political camps in the region to set aside political differences in a quest to support Robredo’s candidacy.

“The task at hand now is to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the victory of presidential aspirant Leni Robredo as each and every one of us gathered here in this All Media Convergence pledge to lend our all-out support, our skills and network of warm bodies and material resources towards a unified movement of installing the first-ever Bicolano President of the Republic of the Philippines,” he said.

“We believe that we shall not fail in this call because Bicolanos are known to be strongly patriotic when the nation’s future is at stake,” he added. (Rhaydz B. Barcia)
