Lagman on his way as Albay’s healing governor

True to his words to make health services as his priority program, Albay Governor Edcel Grex Lagman announced that his province bagged its first ever Green Achievers Award on top of 21 other health awards besting the other five provinces of Bicol during the 11th Salud Bikolnon Awards, proving that he is on track to becoming a healing governor.

According to the press statement issued by the Governor’s Office, the Salud Bicolnon Awards Is the most prestigious and longest running awards conducted by the Department of Health (DOH) Bicol Center for Health Development. Every year, DOH Regional Office V spearheads the recognition of top-notch practices of local government units and other sectors in terms of health governance.

The theme “Pagkaburunyog para sa Salud nin Kagabsan” gathered all local health implementers who exemplified dedication and excellence in the planning and execution of health services towards Universal Health Care in the region.

The awards obtained by the provincial government of Albay during the 11th Salud Bikolnon Awards.

The Albay Province received the following recognitions:

1. Top Performing Province for Population Tuberculosis (TB) Testing Rate (with prize of 100,000 pesos);

2. Top Performing Province for Deworming (Mass Drug Administration) (with prize of 100,000 pesos);

3. Chikiting Ligtas Award (Top Performing Province during the MR-Td Campaign and Chikiting Ligtas Bakunation Days) (with prize of 100,000 pesos);

Recipients of the Green Achiever Awards are LGUs with the most achievements in the 2022 national objectives for Health. For the first time, the Provincial Government of Albay was recognized for the Province Category and was awarded with the plaque that came with a P200,000 cash prize.
