LGU Bato avails drone, tour guiding training

BATO, Camarines Sur---TESDA piloted training workshops on photojournalism, photography, digital drone operations and tour guiding on mid-February to March to LGU personnel, resident vloggers and tourism enthusiasts of Bato, Camarines Sur.


Bato Municipal Mayor Domingo L. Zorilla, Jr. through PESO Manager designate Cathyrine T. Colico organized and backed this particular training interventions not only to improve and boost the skills of the residents in tour guiding, capturing and captioning photos with technical and editorial impact but to provide the residents of the equality, accessibility and equity to techvoc education and infuse to the residents the essential skills essential in wage and self-employment or when the community opted to indulge in livelihood and income generating projects.

PILOTS ON BOARD During workshop, trainees of LGU Bato in tour guiding, photography and drone operations find it fascinating to operate digital drone and DSLR professional cameras in capturing video footages and still images. The skills training workshop, which was conducted in mid-February to March, this year, was undertaken in partnership with the LGU Bato and TESDA CASIFMAS. The activity is aimed to develop the skills in tour guiding, photography and digital drone piloting. Carlito J. Peralta


Skills in this field could be used for information disseminations, advocacy, and event documentation and in social media promotions Ron Yves R. Beriso, a licensed drone pilot trainer and photographer and Carlito J. Peralta, a tourism competency assessor and print and broadcast media practitioner spearheaded and facilitated the training workshop.


Workshop activities comprise of researching remarkable local and national tourist destinations, writing spiel, making itinerary of travel, capturing still images using DSLR and mobile phone cameras and captioning photos and video footages. Training participants were also exposed in a one-on-one practical demonstration on mock tour guiding and pilot different types of digital drones.


Outputs of the workshop are to create personalized Lupang Hinirang hymn and produce Gayon Bato: Asenso sa Turismo advocacy video materials.


TESDA CASIFMAS does not only provide short term courses like photojournalism, photography and digital drone operations. Interested individuals might choose from 31 different techvoc courses that the school is offering for free.
