LGUs donate lots to PH Coast Guard
The joint ceremonial signing of the deeds of donation was held on May 9, Tuesday.
Present during the activity were Coast Guard District Bicol Acting Commander Commodore Genito B. Basilio together with Catanduanes Governor Joseph C. Cua, Virac Mayor Samuel V. Laynes and Ms. Petra T. Tariman who represented Mayor Jose Paolo P. Teves III, signed the deed of donation of a 188 square meters land situated in Sta. Cruz, Virac, Catanduanes and a 100 square meters land situated in Barangay Bagong Sirang, Baras, Catanduanes.
During the signing ceremony, Basilio expressed his gratitude to Cua, Laynes, and Teves for their trust to the PCG and vowed that the PCG will do its best in delivering public service that would help to boost the economic growth of Virac and Baras.
He said that under the administrative and operational control of Catanduanes Coast Guard Station, the construction of the sub-stations will strengthen the presence of the PCG and will fortify the delivery of its mandate on maritime safety and security as well as maritime law enforcement in the coastal areas of Virac and Baras.
Present during the activity were Virac Councilor Juan T. Arador, Coast Guard Lieutenant Senior Grade Esperanza B. Lazaro, commander of CGS Catanduanes, and Coast Guard Ensign Julius Gadugdug, deputy commander of CGS Catanduanes. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
