‘Lions’ bring hope to children fighting cancer
By Jason Neiola
DESPITE the imminent arrival of Severe Tropical Storm Nika, the Daet 103 Service Lions Club courageously pursued its Pediatric Nutritional Support for Cancer Patients advocacy on November 10, 2024.
Th initiative aimed to bring hope to four young children battling cancer, offering them not only essential nutritional aid but also joyful moments as they continuously spend their challenging existence.
The children who received dietary nutritional supplements, milk supplements, medications and basic essentials: 4-year-old Freya Leigh, 14-year-old Yhel Philip, Matthew Jacob, and 4-year-old Rhojelly.
Among the children supported were those with aplastic anaemia undergoing blood transfusions, and others facing conditions such as epilepsy, congenital heart disease, tetralogy of Fallot, and Down syndrome.
The event was an evidence to the resilience of these children and the compassion of the Daet 103 Service Lions Club, reminding all that even in adversity, hope, faith, and love shine through.
The courage of these young warriors inspires a purpose for us all—never to lose hope and to embrace life’s journey with the belief in the miracles and gifts that life brings.
