Liturgical Commission gathers lectors for formation

2,136 Ministry of Lector members of the Archdiocese of Caceres, whose task is to be proclaimers of the Word of God, renewed their commitment to continue to serve as lectors and attended the Liturgical Formation organized by the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission.

They all gathered at the Ateneo de Naga University Xavier Hall Gymnasium last May 13, 2023.

It was an eventful Saturday morning which commenced with an Opening Paraliturgy, followed by a joyous singing of Praise Songs. And shortly afterward, a message was given by Imelda Pena, the Archdiocesan President, to formally welcome the attendees of the event.

The highlight of the program was the talk of Rev. Fr. Jeronimo Ma. Rosario R. Sevilla on the theme DESIDERIO DESIDERAVI – “I have earnestly desired” – which speaks about the importance of the Sacred Liturgy, as it is taught to Roman Catholics to be the first source of divine communion in which God shares his own life with us.

And although the great deal of Raffle Prizes given away at the latter part of the program has been a source of delight to the lucky winners – but there could certainly be no better way to conclude the event than the celebration of the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rex Hidalgo and Concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Glenn Ruiz, the Director of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission.
