Local parish SKK marks 3rd anniversary with a call to communion and shared mission

The Saradit na Kristianong Komunidad (SKK) of Saint Anthony of Padua Parish and Shrine, Iriga City celebrated its third anniversary, uniting parishioners in faith, service and fellowship. Moving forward under the theme: "Gabos Kaayaon, Gabos may Gibuhon", the milestone event highlighted the communities shared responsibility in building a vibrant, participatory Church.

The anniversary kicked off early in the morning of June 6 with an energetic Zumba session. Parishioners of all ages gathered to promote physical wellness with a joyful team spirit. Following the workout, the community transitioned into action for a Church Clean-up Drive. Armed with brooms, trash bags and cleaning materials, members worked side-by-side to spruce up the Parish grounds, reflecting their commitment to stewardship and care for their spiritual home.

The afternoon of June 9 focused on spiritual enrichment and documentation. Most Rev. Jose Alan V. Dialogo, D.D., Bishop of Sorsogon, gave a formation talk. He emphasized that every SKK member is an essential part of the Church, calling for collaborative ministry and unity. Bishop Dialogo's presence brought deep pastora significance to the celebration. Known for his extensive pastoral orientation at Saint Anthony of Padua Parish and Shrine (SAPPS), the bishop has long been an ardent advocate and expert builder of small faith-sharing communities.

An Anniversary Souvenir Program was launched to keep an archive of the milestone through photographs and testimonies. These include the Parish SKK's history, stories of faith and the faces that make the SKK a true home.

Guided by the Holy Spirit and united in purpose, the community steps into the future ready to ensure that it embodies the Archdiocesan theme, "Gabos Kaayon, Gabos may Gibuhon".

This was reinforced through a Solidarity Board set up during the celebration -a visual testament to the community's shared journey and mutual support. This served as one of the focal points of the anniversary, from simple display to an active tool for community care.

The event also recognized supportive and dedicated leaders. The community presented awards to dedicated individuals and groups whose exceptional service, leadership and unwavering faith have driven the community's growth over the past three years.

The spiritual heart of the celebration was the eucharistic celebration led by Bishop Dialogo as the main celebrant. He gave an inspiring homily on the vital role SKKs play in strengthening the local church as a communion of communities.

As the community looks back to the blessings of the last three years, it also looks forward with renewed zeal. This anniversary is an invitation to a deeper commitment to one another and to reach out to those who have not yet experienced the fellowship of the said SKK community.

The SKK of the Saint Anthony of Padua Parish and Shrine would like to express deep gratitude to its spiritual leaders: Rev. Fr. Wilmer Joseph S. Tria, Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Mario Arnulfo B. Gaite, SKK Spiritua Director, Rev. Fr. Eric P. Bobis, Parochial Vicar; and dedicated Barangay SKK coordinators, as well as to every member whose presence and prayers have sustained the community. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the group steps into the future ready to continue growing in faith, hope and love.
