Mariners’ schools commemorate 48th Foundation Anniversary

The schools of the Mariners’ System consisting of Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (MPC) in Naga City, and the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation (MPCF) in Canaman, Camarines Sur & Legazpi City, Albay will celebrate the 48th Foundation Anniversary on March 4, 2022.

This year’s event carries the theme, “Honoring the Past and Embracing the Digital Transformation during the Pandemic and Beyond”.

The Maritime Institutions of MPCF-Camarines Sur and Legazpi City offer the academic programs Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE), among others. These flagship courses are duly accredited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).

Meantime, MPC-Naga focuses on the business courses which include the Tourism & Hospitality Management programs plus the Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAC), Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) and other courses.

From its humble beginnings in 1974 in Naga City, the institution expanded its operation and continues to serve the Bicolano youth in the provinces of Camarines Sur and Albay. As of today, the three campuses cater to no less than 7,000 students from all-over Bicol and with some coming from outside Region 5.

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought a drastic change in the education system, with the institution having embraced the needs of the situation as it proceeds to fulfill its mission under the "New Normal".

With 2 years before the Mariners Polytechnic Colleges/Foundation would commemorate its Golden Foundation Anniversary as it nears its 50th year of service, all systems go after it has adjusted and adapted to the call of the changing times.
