The Milaor local government unit (LGU) has allocated over P84 million for the construction, rehabilitation, operation, maintenance, and management of the Maylaud Water Works System next year.
Engr. Edwin Reyes, Milaor municipal engineer, in an interview on Dec. 21, said that the pre-bidding conference for the project is already scheduled on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
Reyes said it took the LGU quite sometime to complete the study for the project, particularly the rehabilitation aspect due to some major issues that need to be ironed out.
He said the water works project will benefit some 2,700 households in 13 barangays of Milaor, namely: San Jose; San Vicente; Amparado; Sto. Domingo; Del Rosario; Burongburongan; Alimbuyog; Lourdes; Balagbag; San Roque; Tarusanan; Cabugao; and Capucnasan.
Reyes said that the major components of the project consist of the rehabilitation of the water system, and the impounding and processing of water from a nearby river.
Reyes further said that the water works project is vital for Milaor as it will ensure that town residents will have a clean and reliable potable water supply.
He said that they already anticipated some hindrances in the course of project implementation particularly in the development of water source and the procurement of its location.
Reyes assured Milaor residents that the LGU headed by Mayor Anthony Reyes will do its best to finish the projects on time.
