The Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) holds its first-quarter general membership assembly and induction of newly elected officers and members on January 30, 2025, at Doña Dolores Hall, Villa Caceres Hotel, Magsaysay Avenue, Naga City.
With the theme “One Year to Lead One Year to Serve,” the event highlights the organization’s advocacy and commitment to leadership and service.
Registration begins at 4:30 in the afternoon anchored by Ms. Antonette Eduardo of One Media Network. This significant event brings together all MNCCI members, government officials, esteemed keynote speakers, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
The general assembly is divided into two parts. Part 1 involves the Business Advocacy Forum highlighting three (3) keynote speakers. Former Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, Atty. Maria Leonor G. Robredo delivers the first keynote address on the critical correlation between good governance and business growth and progress of Naga City.
This discussion emphasizes how ethical leadership and transparent governance foster a thriving business environment. This is followed by an equally well-sought second speaker Mr. David Michael V. Padua, popularly known as “Mr. Typhoon2000.com”, representing Naga College Foundation, Inc., to address the pressing issue of flooding in Metro Naga.
His reflections share the inconvenient truths revealed in the wake of typhoon Kristine, which brought unexpectedly disturbing casualties and significant disruption to the economic life of the community.
His insights underscore the urgent need for effective disaster preparedness and resilient infrastructures to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of residents.
Finally, rendering the last keynote address is Ms. Olive Cea Mendoza, representing Olivia Cea Mendoza Accounting Consultancy. Her topic discusses the latest ruling updates of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (B.I.R) and their implications on the thriving local businesses. Her insights assist entrepreneurs in navigating the evolving tax landscape, ensuring that they remain compliant and well-informed.
Part II of the program ushers the General Membership Meeting. Engr. Mario C. Villanueva, the President of MNCCI, renders the President’s Report. This is followed by Mr. Lauriano L. Bihag Jr., the Treasurer of MNCCI, delivering the Treasurer’s report. Immediately after these two reports, Mr. Hoover Picar, the PCCI South Luzon Regional Governor leads the Charging of the Officers and newly elected Directors, which was followed by the Charging and induction of Mario C. Villanueva as the new MNCCI President in the company of his elegant wife and amiable daughter.
The honorable mayor Nelson S. Legacion serves as the charging and inducting officer. Consequently, after President Mario’s charging, he will immediately take the turn of inducting the New MNCCI members. The program concludes with a toast for MNCCI, led by Director Eleanor Zuñiga-Montemayor, the VP for Programs and Projects of MNCCI.
The event is a resounding success, fostering a spirit of unity and commitment among members and the business community.
