In its 42nd year of serving the public and with the season of giving among us, the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) celebrated its anniversary starting with a mass followed by an awarding ceremony on December 7, 2021 at the MNWD compound.

The Christmas Tree Donation Drive carries the theme “Pagkasararo asin Pagbangon,” for the benefit of the ISGWIC Inc.

Prior to the main event, MNWD likewise launched the Christmas Tree Donation Drive with the theme, “Pagkasararo asin Pagbangon” last Friday, December 3, 2021. The donation drive is for the benefit of the Integrated Services for Girls and Women in Crisis Inc. (ISGWIC Inc.), a home for girls and women who are at high risk and are vulnerable to exploitation. It is administered by the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd, a Non-Government Organization (NGO).

Given its name, a Christmas tree was installed at the MNWD main entrance which will be decorated with glittering Christmas balls and ribbons. Each ornament will bear the name of the sponsor who will participate in the donation drive. Interested individuals may contribute P100.00 or P50.00, which is represented by a Christmas Ball or Christmas Ribbon, respectively. For every donation made, a numbered coupon will be issued to the donor, which is open to all who wish to participate in this benevolent cause.

Officiating the thanksgiving mass is Rev. Mark Anthony Baria, held Wednesday morning of December 7, 2021 in celebration of the MNWD 42nd anniversary.

One of the highlights of the MNWD anniversary was the recognition of service awardees and retirees.

Despite the circumstances and challenges brought by the pandemic, MNWD continues to fulfill its sworn promise and mandate for the benefit of the public. And this holiday season, may we still find true joy in sharing and giving, without a thought of getting. (YMMSavilla)
