Most Outstanding Indie Film Artist 2022

VIRAC, Catanduanes --- Ronel Samar, from Balognonan, Pandan, was recognized as the “Most Outstanding Indie Film Artist of the Year 2022” during the 3rd Southeast Asian Achievement Awards held on February 19, 2023 at Manila Grand Opera Hotel and Casino.

The award was given for his contribution and participation in the award-winning crime-thriller film ‘On the Job 2: The Missing 8’ which was shown in 2021. Said movie was starred by John Arcilla and other veteran actors and actresses directed by Erik Matti.

According to Samar, he has been with the industry for four years adding that he started attending acting workshops at the age of and has appeared in various TV Shows like ‘Dear Uge’ of GMA 7 and became stuntman in films.

He also encouraged individuals who have interest in indie film industry to pursue their dreams and never give up.

Samar also disclosed that he was scheduled to receive the ‘Most Talented Artist of the Year’ from Gantimpalang Pilipino this February 27. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
