Murals depict evils of CPP-NPA-NDF

By Paulo DS. Papa

The mural painting project of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office has added colors to the national government’s campaign against the recruitment of youth by the New People’s Army (NPA) of the Communist Party of the Philippinesv (CPP).

With the theme “Kabataan Sagipin sa Mapanlinlang na Idolohiya ng mga Mapang-Abusong Terroristang CPP-NPA-NDF”, the project attracted visual artists from different towns of Camarines Sur, including Anthony Villadolid, 26 of Barangay Casugad, Bula town.

Villadolid, one of the artists who joined the project, painted a mural on the wall of the police provincial headquarters to spread awareness on the evils of the CPP-NPA-NDF to the country and its people.

In an interview, he told Bicol Mail that his contribution to the campaign is to show thru his painting the ill-effects of the communist insurgency to young people.

The concept of my piece is to discourage the youth from joining the communist armed struggle, he said.

The Camarines Sur 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Police Community Affairs Unit, sponsored the project on Mar. 29, 2021.
