POLICE authorities in Naga City are ready for deployment inside and outside both public and private cemeteries this coming All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Police Lt. Col Chester Pomar, spokesperson of the Naga City Police Office, said that about 33 personnel have been assigned to man motorist assistance desks to be installed in critical and strategic areas of the city.

Pomar also mentioned that the city police office has prepared around 70 personnel for police assistance desks and 168 personnel to be deployed throughout the city for police visibility.

He added that 92 officers have been assigned to traffic management, to be assisted by the Public Safety Office.

He confirmed that checkpoints will be conducted during Undas, which will be manned by 88 police officers.

Pomar reminded the public that alcoholic beverages, bladed or deadly weapons, and loudspeakers are prohibited inside cemeteries.

He clarified that only parishes leading Masses inside cemeteries are allowed to use amplifiers.

PSSgt Roberto Aguillon, deputy spokesperson of the same office, reiterated that entering cemeteries under the influence of alcohol is not permitted to prevent crimes and disturbances caused by drunkenness.
