Naga cops nab 6 drug peddlers

Naga City police operatives have arrested six men involved in illegal drugs during the first week of 2022, a police report said.

PSMS Tobias Bongon III, Naga City Police Office (NCPO) spokesperson, said that at 1:15 PM on Jan. 4, in Zone 5, Clupa, in Barangay Calauag, police operatives conducted buy bust operation, which resulted in the arrest of Jonathan Orense, 32, an online seller of the said place and included in recalibrated priority database on illegal drugs, regional level.

Police poseur buyer recovered from the suspect a plastic package of shabu with a market value of P15,000. The suspect, during the operation possessed an undocumented .38 revolver with live ammunitions, which was seized by the arresting officers.


About nine hours later, a farmer named Errol Rumbo, 35 of Zone 6, Barangay Carolina was arrested during a police operation conducted in Zone 4 of the same barangay. Five packs of shabu were confiscated from the suspect.


On Jan. 5 at around 11:10 PM in Zone 6, Barangay Mabolo, police officers apprehended Alex Arevalo, 50, a laborer, for possession of five packs of shabu.


At 7:36 PM on Jan. 6, in Zone 1, Barangay Del Rosario, a police poseur buyer was able to buy a pack of shabu from Jose Jessie Ignacio, 36 of Zone 2, Barangay Concepcion Pequeña.


More than an hour later, a call center agent named John Rey Bon, 25 of Zone 1, Barangay Peñafrancia, was also arrested for selling two packs of dried marijuana leaves in Zone 2, Barangay Bagumbayan Sur.


The suspects are facing jail terms for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The suspect caught with an unlicensed gun also faces a case for illegal possession of firearm.
