NAGA CITY---City Mayor Nelson Legacion sat with Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan on Thursday, and had initial talk for the design and construction of the Naga City Skyway.
In his post, Legacion was grateful for the accommodation and commitment of the secretary to assist in the development plans of the city.
Antecedently, the mayor wrote a letter to express the need for the said skyway. He said, this infrastructure “will provide an alternative route to decongest traffic, improve road connectivity, enhance supply and logistics management and boost the economy.”

Naga City, he said, is a center for commerce, religion and education. The downside of it being a “queen city,” is the unusual heavy traffic it brought. Due to this, the city’s road section of the Pan-Philippine Highway serves as the highway artery from Luzon to as far as Mindanao.
The creation of the skyway, Legacion said, is a way to elevate key road portions in the city which tend to clog up, besides it boosting the economy through improved supply and transportation management.
Further, the city government will assist the DPWH in the acquisition of the needed right-of-way, should the project be realized.
This engagement of the city chief, was part of his current official trip in Manila to attend to important agenda for Naga. (PIA5/Camarines Sur)
