Naga new police chief vows better peace, order

The new acting chief of the Naga City Police Office (NCPO) vowed to strengthen and improve the peace and order in the city uner his leadership.

Police Col. Nelson Pacalso, prior to his assignment as acting NCPO chief, headed the Logistics Support Service Division at the headquarters of the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame in Quezon City.


Pacalso, 51, is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1998. He is a karate expert and a former Southeast Asian Games gold medalist.


“The conduct of the May 9 polls is something that needs to be given attention like the strict implementation of gun ban or illegal possession of firearms being undertaken by personnel of the Commission on Elections and the police,” he said.


He said that his office will actively work also with the city government in quelling the proliferation of illegal drugs and other forms of criminal activities that disturb the life of the people.


During his courtesy visit to the Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion, thr mayor assured Pacalso that the city government will support the NCPO’s operation to safeguard the lives and properties of the Nagueños.


“We are more than willing to endorse Pacalso’s designation to permanent status of city director if needed,” Legacion said.
