Naga police agents recover P1.7-M shabu in buy bust

Two drug personalities were arrested and 250 grams of shabu amounting to P1.7-M were confiscated in a pre-dawn buy-bust operation staged by the City Drug Enforcement Unit and the City Intelligence Unit of the Naga City Police Office on Monday, October 25, in Barangay Peñafrancia.


Collared by police operatives in an entrapment operation which was conducted at around 2:40 AM in Greenfield Street were: Jonathan Almonte Fabi of Barangay Calauag and Herbert Esguerra Endaya of Barangay Peñafrancia.


The duo, according to the police, violated Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.


Councilor Vidal Castillo, a staunch anti-illegal drug campaigner, endorsed to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for approval a resolution commending the police officers who carried out the buy-bust operation.


On Monday, Nov. 8, the police personnel will be given citation after the flag-raising ceremony. “The LGU Naga will commend our indefatigable, smart, and vigilant cops for the exemplary service they have rendered for the Nagueños and the city we called, Maogmang Lugar,” Castillo said.


The cops include: PCol. Marlon Catan, NCPO director; PLt. Col. Edgar Butch Moraleda, chief of NCPO intelligence unit; PCapt. Miguel M. Nool III, NCPO substation III officer-in-charge; PLt. Charles Elmerson B. Oamil, who headed the lead unit;


PLt. Col. Rommel B. Labarro, PMSg. Vivian R. Orquita, PSSg. Bobby G. Relos, PSSg. George A. Estocado, PSSg. Julius Q. Bayola, PCPI Jerome D. Frondozo, PCPI Francis Luvi D. Pandoy, PCPI Christian B. Teves, PCPI Ryan D. Rebelion, PCPI Diosdado M. Lamtecson, Pat. Gerson A. Bengua, Pat. Jayson Sancha, Pat. Sonny Embuscad, Pat. Daryl Sarmiento, Pat. Anne Marielle O. Rolda, and Pat. King Erwin Ceasar Guazon.


Meanwhile, another drug suspect was arrested in Naga City on Tuesday, Nov. 2.


Suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth about P408,000 was seized from a notorious drug suspect, a police report said.


Erwin Princesa, 41, a high-value illegal drug peddler residing in Vilmar Homes, Barangay Calauag was caught selling a sachet of shabu worth P5,000 to an undercover agent at around 10:50 PM in Zone 2 P. Santos Street, Barangay Sta Cruz, according to Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.


Princesa did not resist arrest but during the search, 60 grams of shabu was recovered in his possession, the report said.


The suspect was taken to the city custodial facility while police are readying the filing of charges for possession and peddling of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (With reports from Mario Arguelles)
