Naga puts up CSOs deskfor online accreditation

NAGA CITY --- A uniform resource locator (link) nagacitycsodesk.wordpress.com was recently established by LGU Naga to facilitate online accreditation of all civil society organizations (CSO) in the city.

The project, which was launched on Monday, Mar. 29, is called CSO Desk, a facility that services groups such as non-governmental and people’s organizations and labor unions to facilitate their LGU accreditation online.

Councilor Ghiel Rosales, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s Committee on People Empowerment, said the project is an integral part of the city government’s program that enjoins all CSOs in the city to secure accreditation.

The accreditation was prompted by desire of the LGU to build partnerships with civil society groups “which are in the best position to work together with the city government in the advancement of its people empowerment and good governance advocacies,” Rosales said.

The CSOs desk launching was conducted after the flag raising ceremony attended by city government employees and officials headed by Mayor Nelson S. Legacion, Vice Mayor Cecilia V. De Asis and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Rosales said the desk provides a one-stop-shop accreditation process because of the complete downloadable data, forms and documents that can be accessed by the applicants like:

1. Resources and guidelines (e.g. Empowerment Ordinance, CSO Directory, DILG MC);

2. Template forms and documents;

3. Applicants can upload documents required for accreditation;

4. Can register organizations for the Naga City CSO Directory;

Due to the pandemic, Rosales said that there’s no need for CSO-applicants to personally visit the concerned City Hall offices to be accredited. “Just visit and click any of these links: https://nagacitycsodesk.wordpress.com/ #NagaCityCSODirectory #CSOaccreditation #SPNaga,” he said.
