NCPO still working to unmask killer in murder

By Paulo DS. Papa

The Naga City Police Office is still facing challenges in identifying the suspect behind a murder that took place at the Zam’s Apartelle on Biak Na Bato St., Barangay Tabuco, here.

Last Friday, October 11, at around 5:00 AM, a room attendant and a pimp discovered the lifeless body of Rialyn, a 27-year-old sex worker from Barangay Alimbuyog, Milaor, Camarines Sur. According to police, the victim had suffered multiple blunt force traumas to the head, which caused severe bleeding.

Police reports revealed that at around 2:15 AM on the same day, an unidentified male wearing a face mask, cap, black sweatshirt, and brown pants checked into the apartelle. Minutes later, the victim arrived at the scene. The suspect left the room around 3:00 AM, several hours before the body was discovered.

During a press briefing, Police Lt. Col. Chester Pomar, spokesperson of the Naga City Police Office, acknowledged that the case poses significant challenges for investigators due to the lack of basic information about the suspect. He confirmed that the man checked in without logging any personal details, making identification difficult. Although there are CCTV cameras in the area, the footage has so far proven insufficient to trace the suspect.

In a separate interview, an employee of the apartelle confirmed that the suspect was a client of the victim and a regular visitor to the establishment.
