LEGAZPI CITY --- New Bicol Police chief, Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda, on Friday committed to ensuring that the quality of police services is felt and appreciated to promote peace and security in the region.

In a command turnover ceremony at the Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol Region) grandstand at Camp Simeon Ola, Miranda pledged to make the PRO-5 a dependable ally of the local government units, other government agencies, the private sector, and the general public.

“We will vigorously pursue the (Philippine National Police) focus agenda and its framework, ensuring that our strategies lead to tangible peace and security in our communities. I assure you all that your PNP will remain steadfast in its mission,” he said.

Miranda also emphasized the importance of the police force’s welfare, morale, and internal discipline.

“As my guiding principle, we will not tolerate any violations of the law, policies, or regulations, as we have consistently upheld in the past. We are striving for change to gain public trust. Under my leadership, these areas will be my focus,” he added.

Miranda also urged all members of the PRO-5 to embody unity and dedication in fulfilling their responsibilities.

“I encourage each one of you to join me in achieving our commitments with a unified purpose and a genuine desire for peace, order, security, and safety. Let us move forward as one team, one family, united in our mission to serve and protect the Bicol Region and all its people,” he said.

Miranda succeeded Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr., who took on the role of Deputy Director of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management.

Born in Las Piñas City and currently residing in General Santos City, Miranda is an esteemed member of the PNP Academy Patnubay Class of 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree, graduating cum laude from the Mindanao State University – Philippine Cambridge School of Law.

Before assuming his position at the PRO-5, Miranda served as the Deputy Regional Director for Operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), where he played a significant role in developing major operational strategies and enhancing security measures in Metro Manila. (PNA)
