Over 13K Nagueños already vaccinated

By Jason B. Neola

The Naga City government and private hospitals in the city already vaccinated some 13,336 residents including those living in neighboring towns who regularly visit the city for work and other businesses as of July 13 this year,

Dr. Vito Borja, city health officer, said the inoculated individuals fall under A1, A2, and A3 priority categorization of the Department of Health (DOH).

He said 10,164 individuals were vaccinated at the Naga City Mega Vaccination Center (Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum), while 1,034 got jabbed at private hospitals and 2,138 at the Bicol Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary, and the Naga City Hospital 1.

To encourage more vaccines, Borja has called on the Nagueños to continue to register for vaccination thru www.covidvax.naga.gov.ph or by visiting their respective barangay halls and look for the online registration centers.

Borja said that the city government needs to allocate funds for vaccine procurement since the national government can only supply the city with limited number of vaccines. Naga’s population is 209,170 and the city government wanted to vaccinate at least 150,000 residents or 7o percent of its populace to achieve herd immunity.

Meanwhile, the Metro Naga Public Employment Service Office (Metro PESO) has recently released the names of businesses that compose the 12th batch of beneficiaries of the Naga City Business Stimulus Program.

The eight new beneficiaries of the program, which received a total amount of P600,000 as free-interest loans, were: the 3099-IQ Agri Products, Joystyle Furniture, Karaw Craftventures, 23254-Carenderia, MTN Mayao Grocery Store, Vees Photo Studio, QMeds Enterprises, and Sleek and Dapper Barbershop.
