Over 300 applicants flock to Naga City job fair

Some 800 job vacancies from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies, hotels, fast food chains, manufacturing, distributorship, private and government agencies were up for grabs during Naga City Charter Day job fair at Robinsons Place Naga on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Sponsored by the city government, the job fair started at 9:00 AM with the preliminary program and ribbon-cutting ceremony. According to Ephraim Calleja of Naga Metro Public Employment Service Office (PESO), over 300 jobseekers applied for employment with the different participating firms at the job fair.
“Nagpoon po kitang nag-advertise sa job fair, last week pa po. Nagpost po kita kayan sa social media to inform all the job seekers na may job fair po kita ngunyan na June 18 in celebration of the 74th Charter Anniversary of Naga City,” Calleja said.
“Ngunyan po may pandemic kita, mas magayon po na may face-to-face job fair na kita. So si mga nawaran ning trabaho, mas makakakua po sinda igdi sa 30+ employers pong ini [na may] more or less 800 available vacancies,” Calleja added.
Earlier, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted a nationwide job rollout on the occasion of the Philippine Independence Day on June 12.
According to DOLE Sec. Silvestre Bello III, the initiative aimed to provide opportunities and recovery for those who lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic.
