POLICE intelligence operatives seized more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu and a firearm from a high-value individual (HVI) during the implementation of a search warrant in the town of Minalabac, Camarines Sur on Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026.
The Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO), under the directive of Provincial Director PCOL Virgilio O. Olalia Jr., led the operation together with personnel of the Minalabac Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office V (PDEA RO V).
Authorities implemented Search Warrant No. 2026-002 for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), issued by the Family Court, Branch 6, Naga City on January 19, 2026. The operation was carried out under COPLAN 2026-77 “TARPAN.”
The search was conducted at around 6:55 p.m. at the residence of the suspect, identified only by the alias “Nonon,” 46, a resident of Minalabac. The suspect is classified as a high-value target and had been under police surveillance for alleged involvement in illegal drug transactions.
Confiscated during the operation were 37 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with a total weight of 148.2 grams. The illegal drugs have an estimated standard price of P1,007,760.00.
Also recovered in plain view inside the suspect’s residence was one caliber .45 pistol with trademark ARMSCOR, bearing serial number 2169977, with a magazine inserted and loaded with four live rounds of ammunition.
Police said the marking and inventory of the seized items were conducted at the place indicated in the search warrant, in the presence of the suspect and an insulating witness. The entire operation was documented using body-worn cameras (BWC).
Olalia commended the Provincial Intelligence Operatives for their successful operation, citing it as part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs in Camarines Sur, in line with the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) thrust of the PNP leadership.
