P2-M illegal drugs seized in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY --- Nearly PHP2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized and 36 drug personalities were arrested during weeklong anti-drug operations, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Monday.
PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon said PRO-5 conducted 32 operations against illegal drugs from Jan. 20 to 26.
Dizon said the series of operations in the six Bicol provinces and one city resulted in the apprehension of 36 violators who were found in possession of 291.3550 grams of shabu and 29.37 grams of marijuana worth PHP1.98 million.
Breaking down the accomplishments per province, Camarines Sur accounted for the highest value at PHP1.51 million; followed by Camarines Norte with PHP226,113; Naga City, PHP161,160; Albay, PHP69,468; Masbate, PHP6,800; Sorsogon, PHP5,464; and Catanduanes, PHP319.
Dizon said PRO-5 remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate illegal drugs and their associated dangers.
“The agency’s commitment to safeguarding public safety and maintaining order has been evident in the consistent success of its operations,” he said.
PRO-5 assures the public that it will persist in its proactive enforcement efforts to combat the drug menace and create a safer community for the Bicolanos. (PNA)
