PAGCOR gives P50 M to 4 LGUs in Partido

By Dodong P. Valencia

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) through its president and chief operating officer, lawyer Alfredo C. Lim, has initially turned over a P25 million check for the construction of multipurpose evacuation centers in four towns in the Partido District.

The initial amount of P-25 million represented 50 percent of the P50 million intended for the construction of multipurpose evacuation centers in the Camarines Sur towns of San Jose, Sagnay, Tigaon, and Ocampo.

The checks were handed over by Lim to the town mayors during the series of brief groundbreaking ceremonies of the evacuation center projects in four different locations.

The centers once completed will shelter evacuees in times of calamity.

Lim in his message during the groundbreaking ceremony said that the PAGCOR project is in line with the priority of the Duterte administration.

He said that Department of Public Works and Highways designed the evacuation centers to withstand a 250 to 300 kph strong typhoon.

The PAGCOR-funded evacuation center includes a comfort room, kitchen and rooms where evacuees can stay conveniently. The center can also be used as venue for other events like sports tournament, cultural shows or concert.

Lim was accompanied during the event by: Reynaldo E. Concordia, member of the PAGCOR Board of Directors; Atty. Alberto O. Regino, Jr., chief of staff; James Patrick R. Bondoc, vice president (VP)for Corporate Social Responsibility Group; and Ramon Stephen R. Villaflor, PAGCOR AVP.
