Parish Disaster Response Team (PaDRe) volunteers, composed of archdiocesan, district and vicarial officers, gathered for the culminating activity of the Season of Creation 2026.

Organized by Caritas Caceres, 36 PaDRe team members and officers attended the gathering held at the Caritas Caceres Naga Development Center in Cadlan, Pili on October 3.

Focusing on preparations for El Niño, Caritas Caceres invited Dr. Emerson Bergonio who gave a talk on “Understanding El Niño: Preparing, Adopting, and Taking Action“.

Mr. Bergonio, a professor from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, emphasized the 4Ps in responding to the possible impacts of El Niño: Prevention, Preparedness, Precaution, and Prayer.

Fr. Erwin Bismonte, Caritas Caceres Director, reviewed the PaDRe Team structure with the participants. After which, updates and observations at the parish level were given.

A planning session for the anticipated El Niño was also done at the parish and vicarial levels.

The Season of Creation is celebrated every September 1 until October 4, Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, when Christians around the world unite in prayer and action to honor God’s gift of creation.
