Parish introduces Jubilee Reyna Elena

By Myrna Bermudo

For the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish of Concepcion Grande in Naga City, a Reyna Elena must inspire fellow parishioners with their emphatic leadership.

“St. Helena supported the social services projects of Emperor Constantine the Great. While she was in search of the Holy Cross, she did charity work in the places she visited,” says Fr. Francis Tordilla, parish priest of St. Jude Thaddeus.

This charity work of St. Helena was the source of inspiration of the search for Jubilee Reyna Elena of the parish.

Winner will be chosen based on the candidate’s capacity to make a proposal for a community project which will address the following concerns: priestly service or sanctification, prophetic service or education and kingly service.

“ Project cost must be limited to twenty thousand pesos only. Any amount raised by the winner to fund the proposed project will be matched by the parish, “ the parish priest explained.

Winner was chosen by a panel of jurors based on a set of criteria that brings out leadership capability.

Search for the Jubilee Reyna Elena was limited to women whose age ranges from 20 to 35 years old.

The parish hopes to build up pastoral workers from the young generation who will realize the vision and mission of the parish through emphatic leadership.
