PCSO to stop giving medical aid by Feb

By Mark A. Gomez

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Camarines Sur said on Jan. 14 that its medical cash assistance program will no longer be available starting February this year.

Jobet Ramos, PCSO Camarines Sur chief, said their office will no longer give medical cash assistance directly to individuals, instead those requesting for it will be endorsed to government Malasakit Centers.

Starting February, the PCSO will focus on giving cash assistance to institutions such as Malasakit Centers and other registered foundations, he said.

Ramos said that the budget for the medical cash assistance program will now be released to Malasakit Centers that will cater the needs of people seeking medical help.

He said PCSO offices in the National Capital Region and other areas in Luzon and Visayas have already stopped the medical cash assistance program.

According to Ramos, the JLo Big Heart Foundation in Camarines Sur is qualified to receive endowment fund from PCSO.

Ramos assured that PCSO will never stop helping the community to the best of its ability.
