PERYA SA RUINS ALERT

Current ground work in preparation for the usual Penafrancia fiesta carnival at the grounds fronting the two Spanish-era building ruins in barangay San Francisco recently declared by the Naga City Government as Important Cultural Properties may endanger the structural and architectural integrity of those building remains. An existing National Historical Commission of the Philippines cease and desist order (CDO) and other necessary measures to preserve the ruins are now being invoked by the local civil society heritage, historical, cultural and architectural groups.
