By Keren Anne Bernadas

NAGA CITY --- In line with its commitment on its 28th anniversary, the Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) will hold a one-day regionwide summit to showcase its latest and enhanced programs, benefits and services.

The summit is slate on June 3, Saturday at the Robinsons Mall, here.

The expanded and responsive healthcare commitment is in pursuit to the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law which aims to provide every Filipino equal access to quality health services focusing more on the preventive rather than the curative care.

One of the highlights of the said summit is the PhilHealth Konsulta Package (KP) member registration which will be simultaneously conducted at all key sites in all PhilHealth Regional Offices.

During the Kapihan sa PIA Camarines Sur held May 17, Wednesday at the Summit Hotel, here, Al Enrique Delos Santos, the KP focal person for Philhealth Camarines Sur, said that the government will strengthen essential preventive health services such as consultations, health screening and assessment, and laboratory tests. The program also endeavors to make medicines available to all Filipinos anywhere in the country.

As pegged with its anniversary theme, “Pinalawak at mga Bagong Benepisyo para sa mga Mamamayang Filipino,” the upcoming PhilHealth summit will also include educational discussion on the role of UHC and the primary care benefit package that the public may enjoy and experience.

The PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office in Naga City will also conduct free consultation and physical examination sessions during the summit. (PIA5/Camarines Sur)
