Philippine Army discovers enemy cache in Caramoan, CamSur

CARAMOAN, Camarines Sur --- At around 10:55 a.m. on August 11, 2025, the Caramoan Municipal Police Station received a report from personnel of the 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, regarding the discovery of four sacks containing an alleged enemy cache in Barangay Antolon, Caramoan, Camarines Sur.
The report disclosed that one platoon composed of BCoy and Colt 2 Scout Platoon HHC, all from the 83rd Infantry Battalion under 1LT Yvander Rodolf Celiz, Commanding Officer of BCoy, 83IB, 9ID PA, conducted an intelligence-driven operation. During the operation, they discovered four sacks of assorted enemy equipment, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs), IED switches, ammunition, and magazines for M16 and M14 rifles.
The recovered items were itemized as follows: Sixty-seven pieces of M16 magazines
Five 5 of M14 magazines, Four large anti-personnel mine-type IEDs, 5 small improvised grenade-type IEDs, One IED switch set, and 479 rounds of 5.56mm cartridges
The items were found buried in the ground. The recovered cache is now in the custody of the operating Philippine Army unit for subsequent turnover and technical evaluation by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office for ballistic examination and evidentiary purposes.
