Philippine National Police: No ‘Jueteng’ in CamSur

There is no jueteng in the province, Col. Bernardo Perez, Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO) acting chief said.
Perez said “jueteng” is no longer existent in Camarines Sur but he admitted that there is a Small Town Lottery (STL) operations is the province.
In an interview, Perez said police authorities are on alert for any signs of “jueteng” operations within their areas of responsibility.
The CSPPO acting chief said he directed all municipal police stations to continue their anti-illegal gambling campaign and arrest bettors and bet collectors, if there is any.
To recall, reports surfaced that “jueteng” operations have resumed in Albay and Camarines Sur since September 2020.
In Camarines Sur, “jueteng” winning numbers are derived from the results of the STL draws.
There are three daily “jueteng” draws in Naga City and Camarines Sur. One in the morning, one at lunch time and another in the evening, a Bicol Mail source who requested that his name be withheld said.
CSPPO record for the last quarter of 2020 shows no person has been arrested by police authorities vis-à-vis the illegal gambling activity.
