The Police Regional Office (PRO-5) will implement stricter guidelines in ensuring a safe summer for the public.
Bicol police chief, Brig. Gen. Bartolome Bustamante, on Tuesday, Apr. 6, reminded the public to be cautious, vigilant and to take personal precautionary measures to avoid being victims of threat groups and to follow the health protocols being enforced by the authorities.
“With the prevailing threats caused by the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, the Philippine National Police (PNP) encourages the public to spend the summer at home and to refrain from traveling from one place to another to prevent the transmission of the virus,” he said in a statement.
As part of its preparations, the PRO-5 has maximized the deployment of personnel in the different areas of the region to conduct checkpoints on the borders to monitor passengers and vehicles going to and from the region.
Police help desks were also established to provide assistance and receive complaints in various strategic locations.
PRO-5 will likewise intensify police visibility and mobile and foot patrol in major thoroughfares and vital installations in the six provinces of Bicol. (PNA)
