THE leadership of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the Bicol Region expressed its gratitude to Ako Bicol Party-list Congressman Zaldy S. Co for his instrumental role in providing eight new police vehicles, during a blessing and turnover ceremony held on May 7, 2025, at the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO) compound.

The mobility assets, as police personnel referred to them, were turned over to municipal police stations in Baao, Bombon, Camaligan, Ragay, Goa, Pamplona, Canaman, and Station 5 of the Naga City Police Office. These units are among the 100 police vehicles procured through funding secured by Ako Bicol from the national government, with 30 units initially delivered to the region.
Police Brig. Gen. Andre P. Dizon, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 5, was present at the event, where he joined CSPPO officials and police personnel in welcoming Congressman Co.
In his remarks, CSPPO Deputy Provincial Director for Administration Police Lt. Col. Venerando F. Ramirez lauded Co for his unwavering support, emphasizing that the vehicles are more than just transportation units. “These mobility assets are instruments to maintain peace and public service, tools that will help our law enforcers respond expeditiously, efficiently, and safely to the needs of our people,” Ramirez said.
He also praised the congressman’s advocacy for stronger police-community relations and improved police operations, noting that such efforts are “truly felt and appreciated” on the ground.
For his part, Congressman Co said the patrol cars will help ensure peace and order, especially as the country gears up for the May 12 national and local elections. He added that peace and stability in communities contribute to growth, employment, and livelihood opportunities for the people.
Co also revealed Ako Bicol’s continuing initiative to provide zero-hospital bills for police personnel who may require hospitalization. He acknowledged the delay in vehicle delivery, attributing it to the lengthy bidding process required for the procurement of all 100 vehicles included in the 2024 national budget.
Earlier this year, Ako Bicol and the Police Regional Office 5 also turned over similar police vehicles to municipal stations in Albay, Masbate, and Catanduanes.
The CSPPO said it is deeply honored by Co’s consistent partnership with the police in building a safer and more secure Bicol region.
