PNP staffer arrested for illegal drug peddling

A non-uniformed employee of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camarines Sur was caught on Tuesday (Jan. 11) afternoon selling suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a drug sting in Calabanga town, a police report said.
Arrested was Norberto Elopre alias “Obet” 36, of Barangay San Miguel of the same town, Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson said.
Calubaquib quoting police report said the suspect was tagged by policed operatives as an illegal drug pusher and protector of an illegal drug group operating in the area.
The drug operation initiated by joint elements of the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority (PDEA) caught the suspect in possession of four sachets of shabu weighing seven grams worth P47,600 in Barangay San Miguel at around 5:20 PM.
The suspect was detained at the town police custodial facility and facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act (RA 9165).
