Vehicular accident in Balatan
A vehicular accident occurred at around 3:30 PM on March 11, 2025, in Zone 4, Barangay Siramag, Balatan, involving a Toyota Innova and a motorcycle.
According to police reports, the grey Toyota Innova (plate no. EAC 1392) was driven by Karim Zacaria y Ibrahim, 47, a resident of Basud, Polangui, Albay. He was traveling along the National Road from Centro Poblacion, Balatan, towards Nabua, Camarines Sur, when a motorcycle (plate no. 163EPO) suddenly entered the main road from the provincial road.
The motorcycle, driven by Ronie Capayas y Sesno, 44, of Zone 7, Barangay Duran, Balatan, collided with the Innova.
Both vehicles sustained damages of undetermined value, but fortunately, neither driver was injured.
Personnel from the Balatan Municipal Police Station (MPS) were immediately dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation. However, upon their arrival, the motorcycle was no longer in its original position.
Authorities are continuing their probe into the incident.
Cops nab estafa suspect
SAN JOSE, Camarines Sur --- Law enforcement personnel in Camarines Sur successfully apprehended a wanted person for estafa and dismantled illegal gambling operations in separate incidents on March 11, 2025, as part of their ongoing campaign to maintain peace and order in the province.
At around 2:50 PM, personnel from San Jose Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested Marice Gorobia-Bandales, 61 years old, married, and a resident of Sta. Cruz, Naga City, for Estafa Through Falsification of Commercial Documents. The arrest was conducted in Boclod, San Jose, Camarines Sur by virtue of a warrant issued by Hon. Eufronio K. Maristela, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 58, San Jose, Camarines Sur, under Criminal Case No. T-2508 dated February 3, 2004, with a recommended bail of Php 16,000.00.
The accused, who was informed of her constitutional rights, is currently under the custody of San Jose MPS for proper disposition.
Anti-illegal gambling opn
OCAMPO, Camarines Sur --- In a separate operation, elements of Ocampo MPS conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation at around 4:10 PM in Zone 6, Barangay Pinit, Sitio May Iba, Ocampo, Camarines Sur. This resulted in the arrest of three individuals: Alma Santos Fabian, 49 years old; Vinancio Lagatic Defino Jr., 61 years old; Charito Repia Basquiña, 47 years old.
The suspects, all residents of Sitio May Iba, Barangay Pinit, were caught playing an illegal card game known as Tong-its. Confiscated from the scene were P1,225.00 in different denominations and one deck of playing cards.
The arrested individuals were brought to Ocampo MPS for proper disposition along with the confiscated items.
Bingo players arrested
BALATAN, Camarines Sur --- At around 4:20 PM, Balatan MPS personnel conducted another anti-illegal gambling operation in Zone 7, Barangay Duran, Balatan, Camarines Sur, which led to the arrest of four individuals:
Emilda Alvaro Flogencio, 44 years old, housewife; Gemalyn Elaoza Leonor, 30 years old, housewife; Bambe Alcomendas Boasan, of legal age; and Manilyn Badillo Ibañez, of legal age.
The suspects were caught playing Bingo, while another bettor, Maremel Flogencio Cervantes, managed to evade arrest. Confiscated from the scene were 170 pieces of bingo cards, one pail of white pebbles, one rattan bingo shaker with 75 call number chips, and P671.00 bet money.
The arrested suspects were brought to Balatan MPS along with the confiscated items for proper documentation and disposition.
