Police in various towns respond to multiple incidents in Camarines Sur

Police units across Camarines Sur responded to a series of vehicular accidents, arrests, a grass fire, and a drowning incident on May 12, 2026, in separate areas of the province.
At around 3:30 AM, a side-swipe collision occurred along the Rolando R. Andaya Highway in Brgy. Banga Caves, Ragay, Camarines Sur involving a Toyota Hilux (northbound) and a Mitsubishi L300 (southbound). The L300 driver sustained abrasions on the left leg and right arm, while both vehicles incurred structural damage. Investigation revealed that the driver of the L300 allegedly fell asleep while driving, causing encroachment into the opposite lane. The driver was issued a citation ticket for reckless driving and brought to hospital for treatment.
At 5:40 AM, another collision was recorded along the same highway in Brgy. GRS, Ragay, involving a Mitsubishi Mirage and a wing van truck. The rear-end collision resulted in vehicle damage but no injuries. The truck driver was cited for reckless driving.
Both incidents were handled by Ragay MPS, with police conducting vehicle inspections and clearing both drivers of any existing warrants.
At 8:10 AM, joint operatives of the 1st CSPMFC and Libmanan, Camarines Sur Police Station arrested a 41-year-old farmer in Sitio Bikal, Brgy. Tanag. The suspect was wanted for Frustrated Murder with a recommended bail of ₱200,000.00. He is now under police custody and will be returned to the court of origin after documentation.
At 11:20 AM, tracker teams of Iriga CPS arrested a 66-year-old woman in Brgy. San Jose, Iriga City, Camarines Sur for Estafa with bail set at ₱18,000.00. She was informed of her constitutional rights and is currently under police custody for proper disposition.
At around 12:00 noon, a grass fire occurred in Zone 3, Brgy. Aslong, Libmanan. Fire was declared out at 5:42 PM by BFP personnel. No injuries or property damage were reported, and the cause was attributed to extreme heat. Police assisted in coordination with fire responders and barangay officials.
At 6:30 PM, a male child in conflict with the law (CICL) was arrested in Brgy. Tambo, Pamplona, Camarines Sur for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide. The minor is now under police custody and is set for turnover to MSWD for appropriate intervention. No other warrants were found against him.
At 4:30 PM, a drowning incident was reported in Big Catanhawan Island, Brgy. Cabacongan, Caramoan, Camarines Sur involving a 47-year-old fisherman from Catanduanes. He was found floating unconscious after a gathering with relatives. Responding police and MDRRMO personnel attempted resuscitation, but the victim was declared deceased at the scene. The area had poor communication signal, delaying immediate reporting.
Authorities continue to remind motorists and the public to exercise caution, especially along major highways and during extreme weather conditions. Police operations across the province remain ongoing to ensure public safety and order.
