Police nab 5,300 wanted persons

Police operatives in Bicol arrested more than 5,311 wanted persons across the six Bicol provinces from January to November this year, Camp General Simeon Ola said.


Data showed that 932 wanted persons facing assorted charges were arrested in Camarines Sur; 835 in Sorsogon; 785 in Albay; 733 in Masbate; 515 in Camarines Norte; 393 in Catanduanes; and, 207 in Naga City.


Of those arrested, 15 were wanted in Bico (regional level); 50 were wanted in the provinces (provincial level); 93 were fugitive in the cities (city level); and 747 were wanted in their towns( municipal level); while 4,400 more were arrested due to various offenses they were facing before the courts, the reported added.


Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Bicol police director, said that their relentless campaign against these fugitives is not only meant to make the region safer to live but also to give justice to their victims.


“Bicolanos are assured that the KASUROG cops would always do their duties to serve and protect the public. We, the PNP-PRO5, are with the community in achieving a more peaceful and progressive tomorrow,” Estomo said.


Under Estomo, Bicol police operatives have launched series of manhunt operations against the most wanted persons in the region.
