Police nab Virac tricycle driver in anti-drug sting

Police operatives confiscated some 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 from a tricycle driver during a drug-buy bust onJune 24 in Barangay San Isidro Village in Virac, Catanduanes, a report reaching Camp General Simeon Ola said.
Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Bicol police director, identified the suspect as Eddie Bien,40, a tricycle driver. He was tagged by the police as a regional level high value individual in illegal drug trade in the region.
Estomo said Bien was using his tricycle in peddling illegal drugs even as he was also using his house in selling drugs to his clients.
Bien was now placed under police custody while charges against him for drug pushing is being prepared.
He will be charged for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
“This successful anti- illegal drug operation is part of our campaign against all forms of criminality in order to build and sustain a peaceful society,” Estomo said.
On June 20, a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million was confiscated in a sting that also resulted in the killing of a drug suspect in Camalig, Albay.
