SIRUMA, Camarines Sur --- A 17-year-old minor and four other individuals were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation early Tuesday morning, January 7, in Barangay Poblacion, Siruma, Camarines Sur.

Police Captain Mark Anthony Cledera, chief of the Siruma Municipal Police Station, identified the minor as a girl from Polangui, Albay. The other suspects were Richard, 34, a fisherman from Barangay Bagacay, Tinambac, Camarines Sur; Zenen, 47, from Barangay Bonifacio, San Fernando, Camarines Sur; Jude, 45, from Barangay Carangcang, Magarao, Camarines Sur; and Neil, 24, from Barangay Busay, Ligao City, Albay.

According to Cledera, the buy-bust operation was conducted at around 3:00 a.m. in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). During the operation, the suspects handed a poseur-buyer a plastic bag containing shabu worth P160,000 weighing 100 grams.

Further inspection led to the seizure of 14 sachets of shabu from suspects Zenen and Jude. The total market value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at P1,870,000, with a total weight of 275 grams.

“These individuals were under surveillance and confirmed as suppliers of illegal drugs in the area,” Cledera said.

The suspects are now in police custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
